In mid-March, the Troop returned to the Antietam Creek Campsite near Sharpsburg, MD. The campsite is on a portion of the C&O Canal National Historic Park close to Harper’s Ferry, WV. The Scouts hiked for about 10 miles on Saturday, and along the trail, they collected all of the trash that other hikers/bikers may have left behind. This was definitely the Outdoor Code in action! With just about 2 hours of work they collected over 5 large trash bags as part of their conservation service project – great multi-tasking, gentlemen! This site has become a favorite for the Troop and I am sure we will visit and stay again in the future!
